Wiping on the Head
The Question
I was going through one of your email about WUDU that was sent on 18th June 2004(This email was the summary of Halaqa conducted on June 13 th 2004), one of the KAYFIYYAH states.
Wiping the head once: Starting from the front of the head all the way to the back and coming back to the front.
The question is while wiping the head, do I have to bring back the wet hands from BACK to FRONT? The reason is, at work by doing this it makes the hair disturbed (I know it sounds silly. if I have to do it, Insha-Allah I will make sure to carry a COMB).
The Answer
Wiping all the head is Fard (obligatory), but how you wipe it is Sunnah (recommended). So to start from the front and wipe all the way to the back then wipe back all the way to the front is the Sunnah of the Prophet and you will get extra reward for that. But if you don't, the Wudu should still be valid as long as you make sure that almost all your hair has been wiped with wet hands.
